Thread repair kits by thread diameter - Spark Plug

To repair a spark plug thread, it is not necessary to drill a central hole. That's where the HSSG combined drilling and threading tool comes in. The hole is widened by the drill bit at the same time that the thread is cut with a machining allowance. Our spark plug insert kits, sorted by diameter, are available in four lengths:

  • M10 x 1.0
  • M12 x 1.25
  • M14 x 1.25
  • M18 x 15

Thread repair kits by thread diameter - Drain plug

To repair the thread on an oil drain plug, use a twist drill bit to drill through the damaged thread. Then, if necessary, use a countersink tool to widen the hole.

These elements can all be found in our thread insert kits for drain plugs (by diameter), and are available in three lengths:

  • M12 x 1.5
  • M14 x 1.5
  • M16 x 1.5

Thread repair kits by thread diameter - Machine Pro

The PRO thread kits with various diameters contain Helicoil inserts in lengths ranging from 1.5 D to 2.5 D, perfectly suited to most requirements.

These kits also include a HSS countersink tool as well as a machine installation tool that is compatible with cordless screwdriver bits. With our PRO thread repair kits, you will be able to screw in your threaded inserts safely and effectively.

How do you install a threaded insert?

Our thread repair kits can be fitted manually or using a cordless screwdriver. To doso, follow these instructions:

  1. Start by drilling through the damaged thread using a twist drill bit.
  2. Then use a countersink tool to widen out the hole.
  3. Use cutting oil to avoid excess heat and to push chips out of the cutting area.
  4. Finally, just place your Helicoil thread repair insert.
The process differs depending on the type of tapping (manual or machine).

For manual tapping:

  • Use the assembly tool for manual assembly
