Screeds

What is the purpose of a screed?

A yoke is a machined mechanical part that is intended to receive an axis, in order to produce what is called in mechanics, a pivot connection.

This mechanical assembly part is used in various fields such as building, construction, construction, automotive, automotive, architecture, industry, railways etc. Generally known and marketed in the form of a U-shaped part.

The purpose of the screed is to allow for mobile, pivoting assembly.

They are most often found at the ends of hydraulic cylinders when there is a need in the mobility assembly around this pivot connection.

Some jacks are sold directly with screeds, most of which are welded; by definition, they do not allow this much sought-after pivot connection.

The manufacture of screeds

Before starting to manufacture screeds, we must select the raw material, for this, we can count on our section cold drawing internally.

Then, we can begin the first stage of machining, which is the initial cutting, which consists of cutting the steel and pulling to the section and length appropriate to our future screed.

After that, we begin the first stage of use, which consists in roughing the part and eliminating excess material using our lathes, milling machines and other machine tools.

Next is the tapping of our drawn steel. A crucial step in the manufacture of our machined screed, since it is this that will allow the connection with the support of your cylinder.

Finally, we subject our screeds to various grinding and polishing operations (Tribofinishing) as well as surface treatments according to the needs and the environment in which it is assembled.
