Today, Gardette Industries is one of Europe's top manufacturers
Parallel keys are mechanical parts used to connect two rotating components, such as a pulley and shaft or a gear, to transmit movement or torque.
The parallel key is the most popular and most widely used key type. It has a rectangular body and fits into specific grooves.
Parallel keys are easy to assemble and disassemble. This makes them ideal for use in various areas such as mechanical engineering, drive mechanisms, transmission equipment, among many other applications.
Take a look at our selection of the most common parallel keys, which we manufacture and machine on site in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France.
We also offer a machining service for custom keys should you require drilling, threading, reaming etc.
Parallel keys or form A machine keys are rectangular in shape with rounded ends. They are designed to fit perfectly into a keyway on the shaft and the assembled component, and are widely used in connections between a shaft and hub, found on motors, reduction systems, pumps, etc.
6885 A keys are usually made of C45 steel. C45 steel is a non-alloy steel with good mechanical strength. It can be quenched or put through surface treatment to increase its hardness and wear resistance.
List of the different surface treatment operations we offer:
Most of our parallel keys made in accordance with the standard DIN 6885 A allow for a H9 fit on a shaft (key bore) for an exact fit without unnecessary clearance.
Please don't hesitate to contact us for any other materials, special dimensions and tolerances, or particular heat and surface treatment processes.
